Email Marketing Manager

The Adroit Journal, an internationally-recognized literary and arts nonprofit organization that publishes poetry, prose, and art, is seeking an Email Marketing Manager to join its team. The ideal candidate will have experience with marketing and communications, specifically within literary arts organizations, publications, and/or presses. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Email Marketing Manager will play a pivotal role in managing Adroit’s email marketing strategy and campaigns.

Responsibilities:

  • Update and maintain contact lists
  • Design and update email templates
  • Organize email campaigns and email marketing calendar
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with other literary arts organizations, publications, and/or presses
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms and strategies
  • Basic graphic design skill


Event Marketing Manager

The Adroit Journal, an internationally-recognized literary and arts nonprofit organization that publishes poetry, prose, and art, is seeking an Event Marketing Manager to join its team. The ideal candidate will have experience with marketing, communications, and event management, specifically within literary arts organizations, publications, and/or presses. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Event Marketing Manager will be responsible for organizing and promoting Adroit’s in-person and virtual events.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize events at conferences, festivals, and virtual readings
  • Maintain and update Adroit’s calendar of events
  • Assist in coordinating logistics for in-person and virtual events

Preferred qualifications:

  • Presence at in-person events is preferred but not required
  • Experience with other literary arts organizations, publications, and/or presses
  • Familiarity with Eventbrite or similar event management platforms
  • Basic graphic design skills


Social Media Coordinator

The Adroit Journal, an internationally-recognized literary and arts nonprofit organization that publishes poetry, prose, and art, is seeking a Social Media Coordinator to join its team. The ideal candidate will have experience with marketing, communications, and social media management, specifically within literary arts organizations, publications, and/or presses. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and the Social Media Manager, the Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining and updating Adroit’s social media channels.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the social media calendar
  • Create graphics and collateral for various social media platforms
  • Assist in launching Adroit’s presence on TikTok
  • Collaborate with Social Media Manager on branding strategies

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with other literary arts organizations, publications, and/or presses
  • Familiarity with social media management and campaign strategy
  • Basic graphic design skills using Canva or similar tools


Prose Editor

The Adroit Journal seeks an experienced prose editor to help guide our publication of short stories, flash fiction, and creative non-fiction. The right candidate will have previous literary journal or press experience, and be comfortable leading a small team of volunteer readers. As a prose editor, you will, along with our senior editor, editor-in-chief and executive editor, be responsible for evaluating and selecting prose for publication, and soliciting submissions. 

We are interested in both fiction and non-fiction editorial candidates. Please submit a statement and writing sample. Resume is optional. 

The position is currently estimated to require four to five hours per week and is on a volunteer basis (with the hope that there may be a stipend in the future). 


Development and Fundraising Manager 

The Development and Fundraising Manager will spearhead development efforts as The Adroit Journal continues to grow. A new position in the organization, the Development & Fundraising Manager will have the opportunity to build the development function. 

  • Develop and execute The Adroit Journal’s annual fundraising plan
  • Write and apply for grants
  • Secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations
  • Cultivate and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors
  • Create and execute a giving strategy for a large sustained base of annual individual donors
  • Developing and tracking proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising

This position reports to the Executive Editor and Editor-in-Chief and pays a small stipend. Please submit a resume and statement.

We are fully open to all readers and writers. At this time, we are not open to editorial staff on the masthead of other internationally-staffed unaffiliated literary journals. Publications that consider solely campus work, or work with specific geographic eligibility requirements, do not apply to this restriction.
